25 March 2010 - Omanis complete MSF Desalination Plant Simulator Operation Course at ESA

Omani engineers from AES Barka, Muscat, Oman, have completed the Multi Stage Flash (MSF) Desalination Plant Simulator Operation course at Emirates Simulation Academy (ESA). The 10-day course provided the participants with practical hands-on training in operating MSF desalination plants. They went through the fundamentals of plant operation and the concept of control room operation using a distributed control system (DCS).

In the first part of the course, the participants performed a plant startup from cold condition using the MSF plant simulator. In the second part, they completed the operating procedures for treating distillate in the remineralization unit to obtain potable water.
